How to Remove Reddit Authorized Apps – On Any Device
1. You’ve given permission to a recent app in your Reddit account
Email you get when an app gets authorized on your Reddit account.
This is the email you get when you’ve allowed a recent app in your Reddit account by utilizing it to log in to a website or an application.
If you haven’t logged in anywhere with Reddit recently, we advise you not to click any links in it. Alternatively, if you’re certain the email is genuine, you can visit Reddit to revoke app access.
We observed that applications for exploring Reddit (Apollo, Relay for Reddit, Delay for Reddit, Reddit is fun, Boost for Reddit, etc.) are most commonly authorized without the user’s awareness. We can merely speculate why that is, but it absolutely isn’t the app’s or its creators’ fault.
2. Get rid of authorized apps on Reddit
Let’s now understand how to eliminate authorized apps from Reddit.
Merely changing your password won’t suffice, because apps utilize access tokens to function from your account. Logging out of the app also doesn’t withdraw Reddit app permissions. Here’s what accomplishes that:
We planned a Reddit post with Social Rise and invalidated the app’s access before the post was scheduled. Here are three approaches that were effective and hindered the post from being submitted.
- Alter your password and deauthorize all apps – proceed to settings and modify your password. You also need to choose “Log me out everywhere”. Do this if you suspect someone has accessed your account.
- Deauthorize all apps without changing the password – navigate to account activity and fill out the “Log out of all other sessions” form.
- Deauthorize an individual Reddit app – go to apps and hit “revoke access” beneath the app’s title.
You can also reduce your posting time in half, reach the trending page, and automate tedious tasks. Experiment with Social Rise to save time and expand your audience. Commence for free in 1 minute.
2.1. Reestablish the app’s access
If you want to restore permissions to an app, just log in with Reddit again.
3. Browse all authorized apps
To review all linked apps to your Reddit account, visit apps (the page is located within privacy settings).
Each app details its permissions, description, and developers. If you tap on the app’s title, you will be directed to its website. The apps require the listed authorizations in order to execute your commands (they don’t operate independently). Hover over an authorization to discern its significance.

To see which apps have accessed your account, head to account activity. You can also see the dates and locations of account usage.
3.1. An app is unavailable?
If you disallow an app’s access by taking any of the aforementioned steps, the app will no longer appear in the list. If that’s not the case, ensure that the email username matches the account you are using.
4. Unable to disallow Reddit on mobile web
If you visited Reddit to remove authorized apps, you likely noticed Reddit on mobile web (installed).
Reddit on mobile web is automatically approved on each account.
This app is an inherent part of Reddit and its access cannot be annulled. You don’t need to fret about it, as it’s made by Reddit itself.
Another instance of such an app is Reddit Ads. This one is automatically authorized if you go to Reddit Ads while logged in.
Contrary to its name, Reddit on mobile web is automatically approved, even if you never utilized the mobile site. We initiated a new account on a desktop computer, and the app was present.
